We start the sailing day at 1000 with coffee and a safety briefing and depart our berth around 1030. The skipper takes the boat out of the marina and then it’s over to you for hands-on sailing for the rest of the time afloat.
After a short motor down to Dockhead we hoist the sails and off we go. We keep a good look-out for the large ocean liners and ships using the main channel and keep out of their way in the small craft channel.
The morning is spent practising sailing and generally enjoying life afloat. Then we prepare to come alongside in the Hamble or one of the other top marinas for lunch ashore in the local sailors’ pub. All refreshments afloat throughout the day are included but lunch and drinks ashore are not provided.
After lunch we let the wind and tide take us for a pleasant afternoon afloat with a glass of chilled white wine from the fridge before getting back into Southampton around 1630.
If you cannot manage a whole day sailing, then you are welcome to join us for an afternoon sail on a Thursday or an evening sail on a Thursday or Friday.
